We continue to hear from fitness professionals who love RX Undies. We caught up with Rita, who is a kettlebell instructor and a crossfit trainer, and spoke with her about her athletic endeavors and her experience with RX Undies.

How are you involved in the fitness industry?
In highschool I practiced tae kwon do and did this for 10 years; thereafter I got into weight training and kettlebells and decided I had a passion for the fitness industry and wanted to teach others what I have learned. I hold certifications in personal training from NASM
(National Academy of Sports Medicine), I am a certified Russian Kettlebell instructor, and I just obtained my level 1 Crossfit Trainer.

What initially attracted you to get more involved with the fitness industry?
I started training with kettlebells initially gain strength; they are one of the best tools in the industry that focused on functional training (training the body as one). I like all the aspects involved with kettlebell training – strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination – it’s a complete workout!

How often do you teach kettlebell class?
    Three times a week.

What other fitness related endeavors are you currently pursuing?
I am working on obtaining my level 2 kettlebell certification and will be in the upcoming “Fire Breather” and “Perfect Storm” Crossfit competitions this fall.

What do you typically wear when you are teaching Kettlebell or working out?
I wear a sports bra, comfortable undies (RX Undies preferred!), lululemon active wear, and cross training shoes.

Tell us about your RX Undies experience.
They were extremely comfortable and the fit is very well designed.

What has your experience been wearing RX Undies with yoga/workout pants?
I enjoyed wearing them very much, as they worked great for the functional movements I performed by not getting in the way.

With what non-gym outfit do you wear your RX Undies?
I enjoy wearing them with jeans

  • Meet Melissa, RX Undies Fitness Model

Our fitness model Melissa, has quickly become one of our biggest fans. After being introduced to RX Undies during our photo shoot, she has recommended them to friends and strangers alike. We recently sat down with Melissa to learn more about her experience with fitness/figure competitions.

RX Undies: You are involved with fitness competitions. Tell us about those.
Melissa: I actually do figure competitions. I’d love to start doing fitness competitions, those are similar to figure competitions, but competitors also perform an acrobatic routine.

What is your workout routine like when preparing for a competition?
Training starts 12-16 weeks in advance of the competition and diet is a huge component. My workout routine consists of doing cardio in the morning, which could be running, biking, or using the elliptical machine. 4 to 5 days per week I’d go back to the gym later in the day for weight training, which could include squats, lunges, chest presses, and ab exercises – I focus each training session on a different body part.

Tell us about what happens at a figure competition
It’s a really fun and thrilling experience. After checking in and getting dressed and doing hair and makeup, you get the chance to talk with other competitors. Shortly before going on stage, you pump some weights to get extra muscle definition. You then get your moment to shine on stage. You go out and do four poses for the judges, smile, and just have fun. Whether you win or not, just knowing that you’ve reached your own personal goal is satisfying.

Do you wear RX Undies to the gym/during your workouts?
Yes! They are so comfy! I wear them under fitted workout gear, like spandex-y pants or shorts. I like that the liner in RX Undies wicks away moisture and keeps me comfortable during a tough workout. I even feel comfortable wearing gray pants knowing that I won’t have to worry about sweat showing through to the lighter colored pants; I know that a lot of women who do heavy workouts at the gym try to avoid lighter colored workout pants, but that isn’t an issue with RX Undies. Lately, I have been wearing RX Undies on my morning run, and it has been HOT in Boston! Luckily, my RX Undies keep me dry and comfortable. I sometimes go to yoga to stretch, and I always wear my RX Undies to class. I also wear them while I’m out with my pups; I walk or play ball with my dogs once or twice a day.

Wow! RX Undies really fit into your fitness lifestyle. Do you wear them with other types of clothing?
I go out dancing a lot and RX Undies are great under form fitting dresses and skirts. I love house music and DJs.

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us Melissa. We appreciate that you actively spread the word about RX Undies!

We were delighted when we started receiving feedback from fitness professionals who tried and loved RX Undies. Kristina, who teaches Zumba in Massachusetts, shook, shimmied, and salsa-ed in her RX Undies and she let us know that she had a great experience (nary a wedgie arose… pun intended). Kristina was kind enough to sit down with us and answer a few questions.

How long have you been teaching Zumba?
“I’ve been teaching Zumba for three years”

What first interested you in Zumba?
“I stated taking classes with my mother and a friend who wanted to go and I got hooked! It’s like a workout in disguise.”

Tell us what you thought of RX Undies.
“I like the design; I really like the way RX Undies look. I like how high the liner comes up; it feels secure. I also like the hygiene factor. I prefer thong underwear and like that RX Undies have bamboo fabric – it makes them a great fit for teaching Zumba.”

How did RX Undies perform while you were teaching Zumba?
“Sometimes traditional thongs ride up, and when you are in front of sixty people it’s awkward to stop and adjust. There is so much potential for undies to shift while doing Zumba moves, and I didn’t get a single wedgie with RX Undies. There was no adjusting necessary; I felt like they didn’t move.”

Thanks for your time and feedback, Kristina!
